Fire Safety Reports

In Greece, property owners are required to clean their land as a fire prevention measure.
Property owners must clear their land from flammable materials during the period from April 1st to April 30th each year. and the land must be maintained throughout the fire season.
This clearing includes removing dry and broken trees, branches in contact with buildings, flammable ground vegetation, and other combustible materials. Failure to clean and declare the cleaning can result in fines.
Who has the obligation to clean his land?
You can submit an affidavit to the National Register of Property Fire Prevention Measures until 30/04/2025 if you are owners, usufructuaries, tenants, subtenants of land and other uncovered areas, located:
i) in areas within approved town plans;
ii) in areas within the boundaries of agglomerations, without an approved town plan;
iiI) on areas within a radius of one hundred (100) metres from the boundaries of points (i) and (ii), after informing the competent forestry department; and
iv) outside the plan of land with a building, for areas that are not subject to the provisions of forest legislation, in accordance with the forest map of the area and after informing the competent forestry service.

Who has the obligation for fire risk assessment and Technical Report?
In Greece, properties located in or near forest areas are subject to specific fire protection regulations aimed at preventing and mitigating fire risks, particularly during the fire season from May 1st to October 31st. Owners of these properties are required to clear their land of flammable materials and maintain it throughout the fire season. Additionally, they must submit documentation related to fire risk assessment and preventative measures through an electronic platform.
